North London Brass Staff Band

Places we rehearse and perform

North London Brass Staff Band rehearsals are scheduled once every two months, or more frequently according to the needs of our performance schedule.

Our main rehearsal base is St Giles' Cripplegate, the Church in the Barbican, London EC2Y 8DA, the iconic medieval church opposite the Barbican Centre and The Guildhall School of Music (nearest tubes Barbican and Moorgate / nearest rail link Moorgate).

We typically perform concerts in regional theatres and churches. North London Brass Staff Band is also available for private hire and provides a top-quality performance to suit your requirements.

North London Brass has plans to tour Catalonia in October 2014, performing concerts in the City of Barcelona, in Figueres and along the Costa Brava.

Who coaches us and what we play

Our NLB Staff Band Musical Director is fabulous trombonist, composer, arranger and conductor, John Holland, familiar to brass and wind players in London for his excellent work with Lambeth Wind Orchestra, the London Consort of Winds Clarinet Choir and through his brass playing and dep conducting with Regent Community Brass.

North London Brass Staff Band plays a wide range of traditional, contemporary and popular arrangements. We have music to suit every occasion and an interesting and varied concert repertoire.

If you would like to book our Staff Band for an engagement, if you give us enough warning we can source and play almost anything appropriate for your event (almost!).

North London Brass Staff Band is our professional-standard, flagship brass band, comprised of our Network's Staff Players, friends and high-achieving regular Members.

How to join us

Membership of the North London Brass Staff Band is by audition and invitation only. We also reserve a certain number of desks for high-achieving regular NLB Members, so that they can gain experience and develop.
